My two dogs and I felt very welcome at the Cottage. My dogs tend to get over excited by other people or pets/livestock… so the Cottage was great in that we didn’t see or hear others. Great fencing and gate, so my dogs could play safely and I could relax. The kitchen supplies were great and facilities very comfy – air conditioner and fans were verrryyy welcome when it hit 41 degrees (phew). Thank you again, our stay was great!

A beautiful country stay that we all enjoyed! Our Golden Retriever loved the wide open spaces to run around in and the accommodation included more than everything you could need for a great stay in the hunter! Super spot for family plus puppy to enjoy a long weekend in the hunter The property was the most well stocked Airbnb I have ever stayed at , felt like a home!! Also being fully fenced with chicken wire meant it was secure for our small children and 3mth old Puppy to run around on the huge yard We also had Lovely afternoon at their nearby clear door with one on one service trying their lovely wines and sampling some local food Thanks again

The cottage provided the perfect getaway for a weekend in the Hunter Valley wine region. Our puppy enjoyed running around the spacious property while we relaxed in the comfortable lounge or outdoor seating area. Everything was provided for cooking our own meals, although there were also plenty of great spots to eat nearby. Wonderfully located in amongst all the wineries, we also highly recommend going for a tasting at Misty Glen itself!

We loved our stay at Misty Glen Cottage, and Vicci was the perfect host. Great communication, easy check in and a great touch with goodies for breakfast in the fridge. Saved us having to worry about anything. The backyard was so beautiful and peaceful, and the location was just minutes to everything the Hunter has to offer. I’d highly recommend this great little cottage.

The property was very clean and on a great spacious block of land. Our fur babies had a great time, the atmosphere was just relaxing and we really enjoyed sitting outside under the pergola enjoying some of Misty Glens wines and listening to the birds.

Do I need to book in for Wine Tasting and Restaurants?

YES!

BOOK IN FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE

At this time, the best thing visitors can do is pre-book wine tastings, restaurants and experiences where possible.

Many places are limited in their capacity at the moment and want to continue to provide everyone with the amazing experiences that the #HunterValley is famous for.

To avoid disappointment don’t leave until the last minute to make your bookings.
How close are you to the vineyards?
How far are you from the concert venues?

Misty Glen Cottage is 5 minutes from the venues of Bimbadgen, Hope Estate and Roche Estate. Rover Coaches provide a shuttle service to the concerts, fees apply, must be pre booked.

Can we bring pets?
What does fully self contained mean?

Misty Glen Cottage is set up so that you can prepare all your own meals. The kitchen has a full size oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, plenty of pots and pans, serving dishes etc. There is a gas BBQ outside. The pantry is stocked with basic necessities such as olive oil, salt and pepper, herbs.

A breakfast starter pack is provided, including eggs and bacon, fruit juice, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bread and butter, cereals.
Where is the nearest supermarket?

There is an IGA at Maitland Street, Branxton just off the New England Highway.

There is a Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and IGA in Singleton and Cessnock.

Coles now open at Huntlee Wine Country Drive on the way to Branxton.

Basic provisions can also be purchased at the General Store at Pokolbin Village on Broke Road and also at the store at the Hunter Valley Gardens complex.

Cheeses and antipasto can be purchased at the Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen, the Smelly Cheese shops located at Pokolbin Village and Roche Estate.

Locally grown olives and olive products at Tintilla Estate on Hermitage Road and Pokolbin Estate on McDonalds Road.

BBQ meats: The Hungerford Butchers, Branxton is also recommended.
We are not into wine, what else is there to do?

Where can we eat out?

There are several restaurants within 5-10 minutes drive of the cottage to suit all budgets and tastes.

Some of our favourites are Restaurant Botanica, Amanda’s on the Edge, Yellow Billy, The Mill, Baumé at Ben Ean, Muse Kitchen, Il Cacciatore and many more.

Local produce cheeses and antipasto can be purchased at the Smelly Cheese shop and Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen Deli. There are several shops selling handmade chocolates, jams and various ranges of olives & olive oils. Basic provisions can also be purchased at the General Store at Pokolbin Village.

Great for takeaway: Amanda’s on the Edge, Oiishi (Japenese/Thai), Baumé at Ben Ean, Il Cacciatore, Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen Deli.

Early check-in / late check-out may be available subject to housekeeping requirements.

Normal check-in is from 2pm and check-out by 11am.

Conditions of Stay: All guests and visitors to the premises need to abide by the current Australian and NSW Governments’ Public Health Orders.

If you or any of your party are displaying any of the COVID-19 symptoms we request that you reschedule your stay.

All guests and visitors must abide by the NSW Fair Trading code of conduct for short term accommodation rental.

Booking Terms

Rates are based on twin share i.e. 2 persons per room.
Rates may vary depending on number of bedrooms used.
Cottage is always booked for exclusive use.
Booking is for number of guests stated in the booking confirmation, additional fees apply for extra guests.
Minimum stay 2 nights weekends and some holidays; 3 nights minimum public holidays and Christmas Holidays.

Payment

Bookings are confirmed on receipt of 50% deposit.
Full payment required 14 days prior to check in.
Early bird discount bookings are payable in full at time of booking.

Cancellations

If guest cancels outside (& inclusive of) 14 days of the arrival date 100% refund to guest. 2. If guest cancels within (& inclusive of) 14 days of arrival date no refund applies to guest. 3. In the event of reselling the total of cancelled accommodation guest to receive 100% refund. No shows are charged in full.
Early bird discount bookings are non-refundable.

Travel Insurance: we recommend that you should take out travel insurance and ensure that it covers you for the COVID-19 crisis.
